Annika Rigg is a Naarm-based production designer, set decorator, props buyer and art director. When she’s not planning her next escape down the coast, Annika can be found nose-deep in a book or at the local op-shop - for business or pleasure.
Primarily a production designer, Annika has also worked in props, set dressing, art coordinating, art assisting and costume in her time since graduating from Swinburne University in 2020 with a Bachelor of Film and Television with Honours. She completed a scenic art and prop-making short course at AFTRS in 2022, and since then has been keenly interested in the crafting of film props, ageing, and creating realistic set pieces. Her passion for design comes from a desire to tell important, diverse stories that resonate visually with an audience, and she is keen to continue to learn and improve her creative practice.
Annika has worked with the likes of Telenova on their ‘Why Do I Keep You?’ and ‘Stained Glass Love’ music videos and designed Vance Joy’s ‘Every Side of You’ music video which won the 2022 ARIA award for Best Video. She would like to delve further into longform projects, having found a love for them from working on season two of Werner Film Productions’ ‘The Newsreader’ and the ABC’s ‘Queerstralia.’
Annika is keen to see where the art department takes her next and what exciting projects lie ahead!
